Commemorative Project 2026
“The Patrol - Baptism of Fire”
Story of Colonel Claude Charland and Warrant Officer Delphis Cormier
A new documentary film from Bravery In Arms will tell the incredible story of two valiant Korean War veterans, members of the Royal 22nd Regiment.
In November 2026, the Royal 22nd Regiment will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Hill 355 during the Korean War. To mark this occasion, we will produce a short film entitled The Patrol - Baptism of Fire, which tells the story of a young platoon commander newly arrived in Korea and a corporal just four days away from returning home, highlighting their extraordinary acts of bravery. The story of these two courageous soldiers demonstrates the importance of practical leadership, still relevant today, and the enduring bond between brothers-in-arms. The presentation of this film will be an excellent opportunity to highlight the service of all members of the Royal 22nd Regiment who served in this little-known and forgotten war.
The film will feature archival footage and videos, previously unseen interviews, and combat scenes with the participation of volunteer actors. We hope to include footage filmed in the Republic of Korea, where we will revisit the sites of Hill 355 and its surroundings using period topographical maps, as well as the regiment's war diary in collaboration with the Royal 22nd Regiment Museum. The film's production will inspire artist Roger Chabot to create two commemorative paintings, which will be unveiled at the film's premiere on March 24, 2027, the 75th anniversary of "The Patrol - Baptism of Fire."
Your generosity and dedication as guardians of memory would be greatly appreciated in order to update this large-scale commemorative project.
